The Hus
Project Details
Open Plan One-Storey Home.
Commended at the Waverley Design Awards 2019, ‘The Hus’ is a bright and open plan one-storey home built in the back garden of the owner’s former home and set amidst open fields and greenery. Designed in partnership with Scandia-Hus and the clients, a retired former architect, this build was the realisation of the clients dream for a contemporary, low maintenance, future-proof home.
Built with the understanding that contemporary design can also be homely, the home has a mix of open plan space and separate living areas. The layout of the 3000 sq ft home allows for privacy (the home is also ran as a B&B) with bedrooms and study tucked away and a flexible open entertaining space.
An energy efficient design with underfloor heating, large windows and sliding doors that allow all year-round natural light and making the most of the views of the surrounding fields.
